some thoughts on the 23 things

#1: blog
having a blog is great. it's nice to rant, talk, give/hear/read opinions, etc. it's also helpful to keep up with friends who may not be on other sites. i follow the blogs for several of my friends.

#8 and 9: facebook
i've really enjoyed using facebook. it's a great way to keep in touch with friends. i marched drum corps (aka dci) back in 02, and facebook helps me keep connected to people all over the us and even internationally. this also helps with people i've known from places i've lived, college friends, etc. i'm also part of the gspn community, and i can connect with all of those folks(brought together for our love of lost).

i enjoy flair because it's really fun to give and get things. plus, people can comment on your status. a friend and i kept saying ramones lyrics back and forth for awhile. oh, and i can also get information from people pretty quickly like e-mails or phone numbers. always nice to have.

#10: ning
so far, ning's been pretty cool. i like being part of a different community than on facebook. i've just started learning about steampunk and there are several great groups about it in ning. also, the terry moore group is cool too! i still haven't used this much, but once i learn more about it and navigation, i think i'll enjoy it more.

#12: twitter
okay, i seriously forgot twitter was on this list and solely joined for one thing: matthew lewis.
for those readers who don't know who matthew lewis is, he plays neville longbottom in the harry potter movies. but, i've gotten to get connected to a few of my fave podcasters (cliff from gspn, ryan from the transmission, and jay & jack; they're all lost podcasters too), as well as the gspn community.

#13: tagging
tagging is great because you can use key words to help tell about something and find it later or to share with others.

on a side note, this is such a librarian tool. it's like cataloging.

#14: delicious
i've enjoyed delicious(i have almost 400 sites) because i can put my fave websites there and find them later. with tagging and tag bundles, i can easily find my sites later when i'm looking for something specific. i also like being able to share my websites in a community and finding others who have saved them and then finding new sites. it's been really fun so far.

#16: librarything
being a librarian, this is a great site! it combines books, tagging, and more. it helps me keep up with what i've read and own, want to read, and own and haven't read yet. with over 140 to reads, this is really helpful. plus, i can review books, join groups, and more. it's a whole community of book lovers, which is great in itself.
